Sleepwalker 06:15
The day was grey and dreary And it passed without event As I lay upon the couch and flipped the channels I guess I drifted off to sleep during the evening news It was late when I awoke still groggy and confused On was a late night movie and I felt a little ill A man who in a deep, deep sleep had been hypnotized to kill Making murder death and Mayhem and yet lacking any feeling An implication couldn't pass me, left my head a reeling I walked the streets and tried to look into every single face And I felt a hopeless vacuum as if something had been erased What had we done or been doing all along? Some collective unconscious memory loss and while we slept it had gone very very wrong Now when we turn off the light, do we murder in our sleep and think we are doing right? Well we're once removed, like we are walking in a daze Must have been asleep this way for days And all this senseless killing It's really not a dream I want to run to the top of the world and scream But we can never wake the sleepwalker Can we never wake the sleepwalker Must we never wake the sleepwalker? Well the doctor's patient trusted him And he swore to never leave him He told him it was unsafe out there and even warned him of the killings But the very thing he caused was the very thing he dread By day he's soothed with mindless lies At night he's off his head They say the sleepwalker can tell the future Has predictions especially for you If you ask he'll say that you will die tomorrow And spend that night just making it come true How do you sleep at night? Are your dreams all filled with blood? Or do you rest just a little too easy Safe under the weight of the flood? Maybe you've been placated? Maybe you believe the lies? Maybe we've been brain washed to refuse to sympathize? Maybe you believe in superior race and care less when people die? Maybe you believe in a master plan, not the one by God but the one by man? Maybe you believe their soldier's tale, believe that glory can come this way? I believe that when glory comes, when glory comes it will wash this all away! Well we're once removed, like we are walking in a daze Must have been asleep this way for days And all this senseless killing Its really not a dream I want to run to the top of the world and scream But we can never wake the sleepwalker Can we never wake the sleepwalker Must we never wake the sleepwalker?

On the highway at south 51 I look all around and the people all run Some look to the sky and say we're all gonna die That was the day that the fire came down We say down, down The day the fire come down, down Lord help me now! We say down, down The day the fire come down, down, down... Well the ground turn black and the sky's blood red All the things we done well now they're all on our head Cause we lived under grace but made a big disgrace of this life And now we're gonna pay the price We say down, down The day the fire come down, down Lord help me now! We say down, down The day the fire come down, down, down... Down, down, the day the fire come down....

Too Late 05:38
You made me promises. promises you never meant to keep when I was home that night took me half the night to fall asleep you to me were all my life would ever be And now they're closing in I see them in the shadows of the hall And now they're closing in I see them when there is no light at all you to me were all that kept them all from me They're hiding in my shoes behind the laces, don't you see? But I took the laces out and now they let me be I found them in the seams of clothes on the left sleeve, not the right So I ripped the seams right out. Now I feel all right But when I find them in my food it makes it difficult to eat And now I've grown so thin I fear that they may have me beat you to me were all that kept them all from me Only I, Only I, Only I, Only I, Only I, could hear them now Only I, Only I, Only I, Only I, Only I could see them now Only I, Only I, Only I, Only I, could hear them now Only I, Only I, Only I, Only I, could see them now Only I, Only I, Only I, Only I, Only I, could hear them now... you to me were all that kept them all from me Only I, Only I, Only I, Only I, Only I, could hear them now Only I, Only I, Only I, Only I, Only I could see them now Only I, Only I, Only I, Only I, could hear them now Only I, Only I, Only I, Only I, could see them now Only I, Only I, Only I, Only I, Only I, could hear them now... And did you say and did you say that you would keep them all at bay? And did you say and did you say and did you say that you would never go away? Only I, Only I, Only I, Only I, Only I, could hear them now Only I, Only I, Only I, Only I, Only I could see them now Only I, Only I, Only I, Only I, could hear them now Only I, Only I, Only I, Only I, could see them now Only I, Only I, Only I, Only I, Only I, could hear them now...

Monster 04:42
And after years of weathering storms after dodging all the bullets white knuckle rides through rain And We stand in a clearing I think that now is the time you hold me... But when a fire burns through a man they all run away No one feels sorry, no one feels sad They all put their guard up, they all protect their feelings Because "mad" can have two meanings Here I sit sorting through embers Hoping that something still burns inside me I've got nothing left to light my way. I call out with my sad voice I shout out demanding If I should scream and frighten you Still save me Rescue me Isn't now the time you rescue me? Boris Karloff - Frankenstein - 1931 And its an old old story The monster always frighten everyone, But is just as afraid inside. But I've seen the ending And they kill him anyway Because even the little girls who understand Won't grow up with a monster Won't be seen with monsters Would never marry monsters I call out with my sad voice I shout out demanding If I should scream and frighten you Still save me Rescue me Isn't now the time you rescue me? Boris Karloff - The Bride of Frankenstein - 1935 No its just another chapter Turn the page and follow with me Another drama is just up ahead And you put on your coat again and shiver from its cold I'm sifting through the ashes Trying to find an ember Because at least then I had something Something to keep me warm I call out with my sad voice I shout out demanding If I should scream and frighten you Still save me Rescue me Isn't now the time you rescue me? And little girls who see through monsters They've grown up and lost their vision Because the "day to day" is more pressing And they live in the "real world" And I still believe in fairy tales (apparently) Boris Karloff - Frankenstein - 1931 That the calvary is still coming And the frog has met his princess And I know what you're saying even though you haven't said it Just let me sort through ashes And leave hieroglyphs as warnings: Because fires burn for reasons Because coats aren't warm alone And fires burn for reasons yet unknown I call out with my sad voice I shout out demanding If I should scream and frighten you Still save me Rescue me Isn't now the time you rescue me?`

Well I got no reason and I got no rhyme My head is pounding most all of the time I got no money and I got no home Spend my time feeling all alone But I walk in with a grin and I try to fit in Don't know since when long hair was a sin But they need there little duckies all in a row With all the same hair and all the same clothes So I ride all around some say I look like a clown Got no place to lay my head in this town And I feel like I'm drowning And I feel like I'm collapsing And I feel the whole weight of the world But Its all just a case or Gravity and Time. Get some water for my horse and a blanket for me A pint of something cold to drown my misery Well, thats what I'd do if I had some money There's a price to pay just for being free Well, there's freedom "from" and there's freedom "to" Ones the type for me I guess the other's for you So I ride all around some say I look like a clown Got no place to lay my head in this town And I feel like I'm drowning And I feel like I'm collapsing And I feel the whole weight of the world But Its all just a case or Gravity and Time The edges on the rock just taken away by all the years The edginess of spirit just taken away by all my tears Boom and a cloud of sorrow just washed over me Boom and a cleaning rain and then the sorrow nere will be Well time it keeps on ticking like the beating of my heart Tide and the seasons go just like they did from the very start I fall to ground in the rain to feel the grass and mud and dirt And I feel like a reggae cowboy I'm just wondering the earth So I ride all around some say I look like a clown Got no place to lay my head in this town And I feel like I'm drowning And I feel like I'm collapsing And I feel the whole weight of the world But Its all just a case or Gravity and Time
